Occupational Health Nursing Consultation

An Occupational Health Nursing Consultant is available for consultative services to nurses and management in a variety of worksite settings: manufacturing, hospitals, governmental agencies (county or city governments, state or agencies), universities, etc. Assistance can be provided in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating occupational and environmental health services. Consultation may be conducted by telephone, correspondence, e-mail, and on requested on-site visits.

The consultant helps coordinate an annual continuing education workshop on the basic principles of occupational health nursing. This course, held in the fall of the year, is designed for nurses new to occupational and environmental health. This course is held at the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Educational Resource Center (NCOSHERC) Chapel Hill, NC .
