Nursing Consultation

An Occupational Health Nursing Consultant from the N.C. Division of Public Health is available for consultative services to nurses and management in a variety of worksite settings: manufacturing, hospitals, governmental agencies (county or city governments, state agencies), universities, etc. Assistance can be provided in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating occupational and environmental health services. Consultation may be conducted by telephone, correspondence, e-mail, and on-site as resources allow.

The consultant helps coordinate an annual continuing education workshop on the basic principles of occupational health nursing. This course, held in the spring of the year, is designed for nurses new to occupational and environmental health. This course is held at the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Educational Resource Center (NCOSHERC), Chapel Hill, N.C.
