Tick-Borne Illnesses

Facts & Figures

In North Carolina, Public Health surveillance is conducted for the following tick-borne illnesses: anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, Lyme disease, and spotted fever illnesses including Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

Maps and Graphs

These data include laboratory-confirmed and probable cases of tick-borne illnesses reported in North Carolina. Each report contains: a map of 2012 cases by county, a map of 2008-2012 cumulative cases by county, and graphs showing 2012 cases by month of onset, 2012 cases by age of onset, 2008-2012 average cases by month, and 2008-2012 cases by year.

Reported cases of tick-borne illnesses are also included in the overall communicable disease statistics for the state. Monthly and yearly reports are available on the Communicable Disease Facts & Figures page.
