3. Genital Ulcer Disease: Diagnosis and Management – Laura Bachmann, M.D.

5. CDC Guidelines: Diagnosis and Management of Common STD Syndromes – Peter Leone, M.D.
6. Syphilis and HIV in NC: Trends and Management – Peter Leone, M.D.
7. HIV Data Collection: Scannable HIV Form – Janet Alexander, MSPH

Course Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to describe pending changes in STD testing methodologies.
2. Participants will better understand specific specimen submission requirements for NCSLPH.
3. Participants will be able to describe trichomoniasis testing challenges for women and men.
4. Participants will be able to define appropriate treatment for trichomoniasis including for pregnant women.
5. Participants will be able to discuss epidemiology, diagnosis and management of genital ulcer disease.
6. Participants will be able to discuss the key principles for provider-delivered interventions to reduce sexual risk behaviors.
7. Participants will list changes for management of STDs per CDC 2010 guidelines.
8. Participants will be able to discuss the dynamics of NC syphilis and HIV morbidity.
9. Participants will identify areas of the scannable form requiring specific data.

1. View each video listed below with the corresponding power point presentation.
2. Download the evaluation form (Word 79 KB) and the sign in sheet (Word 43KB).
