Asbestos Training

Asbestos training courses provide the necessary training to individuals in the asbestos industry to ensure all asbestos projects are done properly.

The Asbestos Training Provider List (pdf) * lists the names of approved asbestos training providers from which the Health Hazards Control Unit (HHCU) regularly receives course notifications for accreditation purposes. However, these are not the only courses that are acceptable for accreditation purposes. You may refer to the EPA National Directory of AHERA Accredited Courses (NDAAC) for further listings. Training courses holding current approval from the EPA or from a state with an EPA-approved accreditation program are acceptable for North Carolina asbestos accreditation purposes.

It is recommended that you contact the HHCU before taking training for N.C. accreditation purposes to ensure the training is acceptable.

*Some resources are in a pdf format to make reading and printing easier. You may need to download the free software Adobe Reader 9.0 (or higher) to access them.

For more information on the management of asbestos-containing materials, contact the Health Hazards Control Unit at (919) 707-5950.
